Jair Ramirez and his 'one man show'-Sugarman-
A live aerial theatre performance exploring the reality of being tied into the routine of urban life in a metropolis, and how using music, dance and your imagination can help you rise above the daily grind. While there are aspects that relate to my home town Bogota-Colombia specifically I believe the underlying theme of claustrophobia and the how to breaking free is universal.
THE ARTIST BEHIND THE IT ALL...
Jair Ramirez's performance was described as high lights from Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2016 by BBC, winner of the 'Circus Maximus Judges Award -London UK 2015' and performed beside the famous music producer ‘Naughty Boy’ at the MOBO AWARDS CEREMONY Leeds 2015 for 13.000 audience
"Edge-of-your-seat-stuff” The Stage
"Jair Ramirez looks mighty fine stretching and contorting his compact and muscular frame on the aerial straps” The Times
”Very graceful and poetic movements of the body and subtle nuances. Beautiful to watch” Adrian Berry -Jackson’s Lane-
“Lasting symbolically charged images” Erin Whitcroft -Resolution festival-
I believe in circus as a way to communicate, share ideas/experiences, to help others broaden their perspective and open up their view of the world
